Seminar on Reviewing and Adjusting the Aims & Scope of Specialized Journals
Posted on 2026-06-12With the goal of enhancing the quality of scientific publications and positioning the Journal of Science for inclusion in prestigious international databases such as Scopus and ESCI, Ho Chi Minh City Open University Journal of Science organized three seminars on reviewing and adjusting the Aims & Scope and development orientation of the University's scientific journals across the fields of engineering and technology, social sciences, economics and business administration.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Nguyen Minh Ha, Ph.D. - President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University - emphasized that the University is working toward building a "Journal and Press" model, progressively developing independent publishing capacity and actively engaging with both domestic and international academic networks. He also noted that the University's scientific journals will continue to be reviewed and refined, with research scope focused on timely and academically significant topics such as sustainable development, digital transformation, international integration, and finance, alongside the standardization of editorial, peer review, and publication processes to meet international standards.
During the seminars, delegates exchanged views on refining publication scope, raising the academic quality of research articles, standardizing keyword systems and citation processes, and strengthening the visibility of the journals across reputable academic databases.
This is one of the key activities in Ho Chi Minh City Open University's science and technology development strategy, contributing to improving research quality, expanding academic collaboration, and gradually affirming the University's standing within the domestic and international scientific community.
